Publication Date

There is still no specific publication date for the Winds of Winter. In his previous books, Martin made repeated estimations on the date of publication, which angered some of his fans. This time, Martin does not want to be too optimistic with his announcements regarding the publication date. On his interviews, Martin would always say that the book would be done when it’s done. In January of 2014, Martin’s publisher announced that the Winds of Winter would certainly not be published before 2015. Others who knew Martin believed that the book would be published between 2015 and 2018 because they are basing it on Martin’s writing pace.
In another interview, Martin announced that he plans to publish the Winds of Winterbefore the airing of the sixth season of Game of Thrones in 2016. Well that never happened. The publication date is still unconfirmed and as of now, Martin is still writing the novel. Every fan of the series hopes that the sixth book comes out before the airing of the Game of Thrones next year.

Rumored Plot

It is rumored that Martin will open the Winds of Winter with two major battles, the battle in the ice and the battle of Slaver’s Bay. The ending of the previous book, A Dance with Dragons, ended with cliffhangers that Martin intends to continue on this upcoming novel. Some of the die-hard followers of the series made their own predictions about the plots that the readers may encounter on this upcoming novel.
The war with the Others is inevitable and it will happen. Things will go from bad to worse and the Others would definitely be in the Winds of Winter. There will be a wave of suffering and death that will come from the North that will be more devastating and horrendous than the recently resolved civil war.
Martin has released ten chapters and six preview chapters which tells the future of Theon Greyjoy, Tyrion, Stark girls, Arianne Martell and Barristan Selmy.

Who Will Be Killed Off

In George R. R. Martin’s novel series, no one is safe, not even his favorite characters. In one interview, Martin said that he loves all his characters but Tyrion Lannister is one of his favorites. However, even Tyrion is not safe from being killed off. Martin is known for his unpredictable but necessary deaths.
In another interview in Germany, Martin discussed a character that would eventually die in his book. Martin said that he knew this character is doomed from the very beginning but he still hasn’t figured out how the character is going to die. Some say that Tyrion was the obvious character that is next on the chopping board; however, fans of the series can never be sure. Just when you think you have it all figured out, Martin will turn everything upside down and create so much chaos that it would just blow your mind and leave you dumbfounded.

What to Expect

Expect more battles, marriages and betrayals on the sixth book Winds of Winter. There are reports that the real antagonists will appear on the next book and it will be the Others or the White Walkers. The Black Wall would be destroyed and the kingdoms would unite to fight this huge threat. Some fans theorize that Daenerys will come to help the Westeros.
The book Winds of Winter will probably start with two large battles, which is probably the encounters between Ramsay Bolton and Stannis Baratheon in the North and the attack on Meereen to overthrow Daenerys.
Martin also said that there will be a lot going on at The Wall and there will be the return of Dothraki. The two character favorites, Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister will also meet.
Since the previous book ended with a lot of questions and cliffhangers, the Winds of Winter is expected to answer almost all those questions. However, everyone would still have to wait because Martin still has no announcements on the date of publication for the Winds of Winter.

All About Red Wine

http://thethrillsociety.com is your link to Thrilling Stuff! This article is just a taste!

Wine is one of the most spectacular alcoholic beverages in the world, which has been in existence since the days of yore. Wine is tied to many religions and cultures around the world. The Christian Church finds wine to be an essential part of their religious practice.

History

While there is no specific date that can be accredited for the discovery of wine, archaeological evidence shows the presence of wine as far back as in 6000 BC. The states of Armenia, Georgia and Iran are linked with the production of the earliest wines in the world. Evidence of wine in these states was found through the wine vessels, jars, and remnants of crushed grapes. The oldest winery, which included a wine press, fermentation vats, and jars was discovered in Armenia and it dates back to 4100 BC.

Process of Making Red Wine

The steps involved in making red wine are:
    • The process of making red wine is initiated with the harvest of grapes when they are ripe.
    • The harvested grapes are then taken to a de-stemmer and crusher.
    • The must, which is made from the grape juice and solids, are allowed to sit over a set period of time as they pick up flavor and color. This part of the process is known as maceration. Time is of essence during maceration. Too long and the wine can turn bitter.
    • The next step is fermentation where the yeast works it’s magic on the wine.
    • The grape skins start floating to the top and they have to be pushed back down so that they are in contact with the must to release their juices and color. This is known as pumping over.
    • The next step involves separating the free-run juice from the pomace, which is the leftover must after the free-run juice is drained. The pomace goes through the process of pressing to squeeze out the remaining juice. Different degrees of pressing can lead to different qualities of wine. Winemakers usually keep the free-run juice separate from the juice extracted through pressing the pomace. The best quality wines use just the juice portion of the must.
    • Malolactic fermentation (MLF) marks the next step of the red wine making process. The process converts malic acid, which is present in grape juice to lactic acid with the influence of bacteria.
    • After MLF, the red wine is racked so that it can be cleared of any solids present in the wine. Preservatives are added at this time to avoid oxidation.
    • Red wines then go through the process of aging, which can vary from a few days to almost 18 months. Aging is done in oak barrels, stainless steel or concrete tanks. Oak barrels are considered to bring flavor to the wine depending on their age and size.
    • The fining and stabilization of red wine helps in removing any agents in the wine that may make it cloudy.
    • The last step is filtering the wine so that it is clear of any sediments after which the wine is bottled. Usually, a cork stopper is used, but plastic or aluminum caps are also common.

Red Wine Producing Areas

Wines are segregated by color into red, white, and blush. Red wines are further divided into different varieties depending on the type of grapes which were used to lend their fruity essence to this sweet and dry beverage. The top three wine producing countries in the world are:
France – For centuries, this country has basked in the reputation of being the world’s largest and best producer of wine. While other wine producing nations have started emerging, France has notably reduced its production of wine since 2007. The country’s unrivaled experience in the area of wine ensures that it still remains one of the best wine producing countries in the world. The primary wine growing regions in France are Alsace, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Beaujolais, Champagne, Jura, Languedoc, Cotes du Rhone, Loire Valley, Medoc, and Provence.

Italy – Italy is second to France when it comes to wine production. The country is seeing a similar trend where wine production has been reduced by approximately 7% since 2007. While there are over 300 Italian wine varieties, the top wine producing regions in Italy are Veneto, Tuscany, and Piedmont.
Spain – Spain produces some of the best quality wines in the world, although the production of wine is lower than that of its neighbors. Spanish wines like the Alvaro Palacios’ L’Ermita and Vega Silicia’s Unico are considered to be highly prestigious.

Summary

While wine remains indisputably one of the world favorites when it comes to alcoholic beverages, it continues to evolve with flavors that flood your senses with the desire for more. The beautiful hues of red that lend the red wine its different colors are a wine connoisseurs delight as they twirl the glass and take a sip.

I Know It’s Painful, But Read The Camera’s Manual

http://thethrillsociety.com is your link to Thrilling Stuff! This article is just a taste!

Reading a camera’s operating manual is about as much fun as reading the legal mumbo jumbo we are forced to read when signing up or buying anything today. This type of reading is guaranteed to put a person to sleep in a matter of minutes. So far I have never read the legal mumbo jumbo and everything seems to be going well. Dudes in black suits could arrive at my doorstep any minute! However there is no way to get out of reading your camera’s manual.

Whenever a new camera is purchased I recommend sitting down, with the camera and manual and going through every button and function until you fully understand the purpose of the button or function. I recommend you do this before taking your first click, because the first time out with a new camera you are going to see Bigfoot and you will for sure screw up the shot unless you read the manual.
Let’s take the photo below for example on the importance of knowing your camera’s functions.

This shot requires quite a bit of messing around with the camera’s functions to make it work. I shot this creek click (say that 10 times fast) in shutter priority mode, exposure composition +5, 5 second timer, and with a 25 second exposure. This is a tricky setup! Now add the fact as I was taking this photo I heard a ruckus behind me and saw three young raccoons running down the creek towards me. I had about 10 seconds to go from long exposure mode to raccoon shooting mode, (read your manual to find out more about raccoon mode) before the raccoons were on the bridge I was shooting from and not more than 15 feet away. Raccoon shooting mode is way different than long expose, creek click mode. The raccoons, and I thought this was quite rude, didn’t stay on the bridge for very long to pose. I did a great job getting the camera into raccoon shooting mode all except for removing the ND filter on my lens. That is why I am not proudly posting amazing raccoon photos!

Now after you read your new camera’s incredibly dull manual. Get some time behind the lens. Then I recommend you buy another expanded version, tailored for your camera model, manual. I know you probably think I am torturing you. You already sat through several hours of boring manual and now I want you to read a long version of your camera’s manual. Yep, because I am twisted like that, but mainly because the manual your camera comes with sucks! There is in other way to put it! It sucks! The camera’s manual gives you the basics, but there is much more to learn about your camera. An expanded manual will not only tell you what the button or function does, but why you want to use it.
Photography Tips photo
Even after owning my camera for over two years I still go back to the expanded add on manual from time to time to refresh myself on the functions and buttons I don’t use very much or may have forgotten about. Usually with the aid of an adult beverage!
